a whole new level of excitement
Yeah, I know that I’ve been pretty single minded lately: Boston, Boston, Boston, hills, Boston, running, Boston, oh yeah and more Boston. Needless to say I pay pretty close attention to the latest buzz around the B.A.A. Did anyone else hear the exciting news? Ryan Hall, fastest American to ever run Boston, is planning on racing Boston again! Oh, and I’m going to be there too, btw. Turns out that he was debating between running London and Boston. Ummm, yeah, I totally believe he’s going to win! Its going to be historical. It’ll be like all those people who ran the 1983 Boston and were able to say they were there the last time an American won the race.
The only drawback to this situation is that I won’t be able to watch the race live to see the drama unfold. I’ll definitely need someone to record that for me. I love watching marathons more than watching football (if that’s even possible).

Very cool! I hope he wins. Maybe you’ll see him at the expo. He and his wife are very, very nice.
Yes, I did see this!! Very exciting!!
Girl!!! Thanks for filling me in on the news! We are going to have to find him when we are in Boston. We should have someone record it and then watch it together that night. P.S. I love that you and Mr. Dawn fight over nerds….my kind of woman:)
I heard about this!! It’s very exciting! Though of course it makes me extra bummed I’m not running. But I guess it just gives me something extra exciting to watch/cheer for on Marathon Monday!
Yay, Michigan runners!!
My family has a cabin south of Munising, so I know what you mean about the Pictured Rocks–they’re gorgeous!
I’m a big football girl (you can probably hear me a mile away when I’m watching, too!), but there’s something about watching marathons that is just awesome. And, believe me, if I was running Boston I would be pretty single-minded, too!
I sure hope we get to see him at the expo since it WON’T be at the finish line
!
I’ll do another ost on my race goals (or 2), but definitely going for a PR. I may not race another full again for another 6 months or year – gotta make it count
What are your thoughts? Re-BQ or savor the day in a low-key way?
Hey there! I have some awesome pictures of Ryan running the race last year that my husband took. My sister also saw him in the elevator of the Copley Marriot!! I’m wondering if Sarah Hall won’t be running the mile race the day before. You DEFINITELY have to go to these races. SO fun! I watched Josh Cox win the 5K too and got to stand right next to his wife at the 2 mile mark! I wonder if sometimes I’m not just destined to be a spectator! Races are WAY too fun to watch!!
hey girl, i just really want to say THANK YOU for all the encouraging amazing comments you have left me over the cycle. i always look forward to what you have to say
can’t wait to train for boston “together”!!!
and i will definitely keep you informed on what i decide to do for training, i have a lot spinning through my mind about a plan, but want to get through this one first
thanks again!
I love how happy and excited you are about Boston! We need a run date!!!
How much does Billy pay you to be so nice to me. I always crave baked goods with large amounts of frosting too:) I ran probably twice a week in high school for weight loss but it wasn’t until college (dealing with disordered eating habits) that I really got into it and realized food was FUEL and that it was GOOD!!
By the way what day are you going to get to Boston? I am getting there the Friday before the race. I really want to do some fun hang outs:)
