KPH tagged me in a fun little question-answer-survey-ish-thing…niner…Basically, I answer the following and then can ask my own questions of whomever I wish…
1. What are you most excited about for the coming new year? What resolutions will you make and do you think you’ll stick to ‘em?
I am most excited to train for and run the Boston Marathon. I started running 6 years ago and even though I had dreams of running Boston, my first marathon finishing times were just under 5 hours, so it seemed pretty laughable. I’m so excited to stand on that starting line and drink it all in, remember the days, weeks, and months of preparation that lead me to that singular moment. I plan on crying. And dancing my way to the finish line!
I don’t really do resolutions…I just try to be awesome all the time

2. When you go into a coffee shop, what do you order? (not necessarily coffee)
I get a hot tea and put honey in it. Mostly herbal (I don’t really drink much caffeine), but sometimes I’ll get a green tea. I did just recently try the salted caramel hot chocolate at Starbucks, and it was yummy!
3. What was the first blog you followed? Do you still? And what is your favorite blog to read?
The first running blog that I found was chicrunner.com. I was looking for recommendations on what arm warmers to buy and she’d done a review of some zensah ones. I started exploring her site and realized that she’d run the San Diego RnR marathon the year before and I was training for that same race. I started reading her race report and then did a search for others because I wanted to read as much about the race as possible. I do still follow her. I can’t imagine picking my favorite blog, there are so many great runners out there!
4. Do you speak/read any other languages?
Nope, I’m lame.
5. This spin off of FB: If you and your mom/dad ended up in jail together and you could only say 4 words, what would they be?
it was worth it!
6. What was your favorite show growing up? Can you sign the theme song? (I don’t think Fresh Prince should count on this one…. everyone can sing that theme song)
I loved Duck Tales. And yes I can….d-d-d-danger!
7. What is your most memorable race moment?
Crossing my first marathon finish line. My BFF Andi by my side, our hands raised together. Tears.
8. What’s the coldest you’ve ever run in and what did you wear?
7, I think. Lots of layers. with everything covered except a slit for my eyes.
Here’s my list of questions to pass on to the ladies below:
- If you could live in any home on a television series, which one would it be?
- What’s the habit you’re proudest of breaking?
- Where do you go for advice?
- What’s your favorite Web site?
- Name five songs to which you know all the lyrics.
- What do you bring to running? A lot of people ask why you love running, or what do you get from running, but I think it’s interesting to talk about what we each bring to the sport.
- Since I’ve had trouble sleeping lately, what do you do if you can’t sleep? Count sheep? Toss and Turn? Get up and do something?
I’m gonna tag some blogs that I’m new to so I can get to know everyone!
Dawn @ Racing Dawn
Nellie @ Midlife Cruiser
Lindsey Ann @ Run, Lindsey Ann, Run!
Mallory @ Sit for your job. Run for your life!
Can’t wait to read your answers

Love this list! So fun! I know all of the words to Fresh Prince as well;)
1. If you could live in any home on a television series, which one would it be?
Who has a maid?? That’s the house I want to live in
2. What’s the habit you’re proudest of breaking?
I used to bite my fingernails, then when I met my husband, I started growing them out…then that got too hard, so I let myself just bite one sad little digit. Then we got married, and I quit altogether. I didn’t even have to go through a self help program! HA!
3. Where do you go for advice?
My husband! He’s like Mr. Zen compared to me
4. What’s your favorite Web site?
Mainly I just go to all my blog buddies sites and stalk them.
5. Name five songs to which you know all the lyrics.
Are you kidding me?!?! Old age = Memory loss. No can do!
6. What do you bring to running? A lot of people ask why you love running, or what do you get from running, but I think it’s interesting to talk about what we each bring to the sport.
I guess I bring immaturity to running. When I go out running, I play air drums, move my arms like I’m freestyle swimming, and pretty much act as insane as I want. People leave me alone, and I have fun. Win/Win!
7. Since I’ve had trouble sleeping lately, what do you do if you can’t sleep? Count sheep? Toss and Turn? Get up and do something?
I’ve had the SAME problem lately!!! I end up getting up and reading blogs. NOT A GOOD IDEA… makes it worse, but I get lonely when I’m wide awake in my jammies and the rest of the world is asleep. Losers!
Thanks for tagging me! That was
F U N!!!
And I loved reading your responses and getting to know you more!
Thanks for the tag! I’ll get working on it – those are good questions!!!!
Ok – so my biggest question for you: What is the best tip you can give to go from under a 5 hour marathon to qualify for Boston? My fastest time is a 4:10 and to get to a 3:45 for Boston is stressin me out. Seriously. I’ve got to hit the mark in 2011 – my biggest goal! Any helps would be mucho appreciated!
“I don’t really do resolutions…I just try to be awesome all the time.” hahaha love it! And that’s a great attitude to have.
Loved reading your answers to these questions. It’s definitely a great way to get to know bloggers. Duck Tales was definitely a huge childhood favorite of mine too
Thanks Dawn! I really enjoyed reading this. No languages? But math is a foreign language!!
“I don’t really do resolutions…I just try to be awesome all the time” LOL!! Love it!!
Haha, thanks for the tag! It’ll give me a project at school today
I wish I could say I wasn’t big on caffeine. I’m resolving to phase it out of my diet, but I just love the taste and smell of coffee so much.
Have a great day!
Enjoyed reading this post!
Loved reading your responses. Congratulations on an amazing improvement in your marathon time! That is so encouraging to anyone looking to improve there times!
The coldest temps Ive ever run in was also 7 degrees! SO COLD. I wore snow pants and swished the whole way along…
Cute Post! Fun to find out so much about everyone!!
Thank you, because now I’ll have the Duck Tales theme song in my head all day. I hope you’re happy.
I did want to say, in the least creepy way possible, I absolutely love following your running updates on Daily Mile. As a new runner, you’re so inspiring. I’m running my first half marathon in May, so my mileage will get up there eventually. But until then, I just wanted to say thanks for all the inspiration!
AHHHH I loved this post, it is so fun getting to know you better and honestly your comments on my blog are my favorite, you are hilarious. Duck tales is and was amazing. I can’t believe that you have improved your marathon time by that much. Girl, YOU are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We are getting tea with honey when we are in BOSTON together!
i agree. math is a foreign language. (one which i am fortunate to speak… on a good day) and now i’ll have the ducktails song in my head all day. =)
