what i did over christmas: part three

While on vacation, most people seek out exciting adventures.  Maybe an amusement park.  Others go to exotic locations where they can enjoy fine dining.  Me?  I go here:

mecca

Anyone recognize the building in the background?  Yup.  That’s the Celestial Seasonings Tea Shop.  I forced begged my entire family to take me to their factory in Boulder Colorado.  We happened to get there 45 minutes before the tour started (no clue how that happened :) ) and got to sample tea until it was time to see their facilities.  Ah-Maze-Ing.  75 types of tea.  All I could drink in 45 minutes.  Dream. Come. True.

First we went to the spice/herb storage facilities.  We learned about black/green/white tea.  Then, we got to go in the MINT ROOM.  My favorite part.  Its like standing in the center of a Halls cough drop.  Man, that would be awesome right about now…Then it was on to the factory floor.  It was so awesome to see all the machines filling the tea bags and packing the boxes.  I never realized that they only have the one factory.  It’s all at that one facility.  Incredible!

Yes.  I’m a tea junkie.  And I love Celestial Seasonings.  I always drink one cup a day.  All kinds.  All flavors.  My current obsession is their Decaf Sweet Coconut Thai Chai.  Yumm.  This week, with my voice, throat, upper respiratory issues that I’ve been focusing on Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and lemon varieties.  AndI’ve been drinking even more.  Upwards of 6 cups a day!  Still coughing up a storm….but at least my voice is almost back to 100%.

I am such a tea junkie! I drink at least two cups a day…. my fave is good ol’ earl grey. Very cool to get to go there. I hope u feel better soon :)

  • I LOVE peppermint tea…as long as it’s Celestial Seasonings! If you make it with almond milk, it feels like a dessert. I love it! Lucky you for getting to go to their factory :)

I like licorice spice tea that I can only get in Canada but I don’t drink it much. I’m trying to cut my coffee intake to one cup in the morning and I’ve got the serious shakes and a massive perma-headache! I need to start drinking more tea! Looks like you had a great time!!

I’m so behind here that I missed your last post! Congrats on the snowy 15! That’s A LOT of snow. More than we even have here! We’ve had 3 glorious 15 degree days now and it’s been lightly snowing. Just beautiful! Unfortunately, the extended forecast isn’t so kind! Hope the training is going well:)

  • How fun!! I love Celestial Seasonings, too, and always drink one cup every night before bed :)

It’s good to find things you love!!! I’ve heard their tea is really good but I’m not much of a tea person but maybe I’ll give it a shot!

Mmmm tea!!! I am only recently starting to branch out to different types… I would love to check out a place like that. In the store, I just stare and stare and have NO clue what I’ll like.

  • The Turtle says:

That actually sounds like a lot of fun to me.

  • I grew up on celestial seasonings! Every Christmas my husband and I go people watching at the Yankee Candle Factory Village, which is right near his parents’ house – but tea is much more my speed :)

  • Nicole says:

I wish i liked tea….. :) cute pic of you and the hubbs!

  • I think I would like tea if someone made it for me. my mom used to make the sleepy time tea. I’ll have to go check this out next time we are back in Colorado!

  • Liz J. says:

ohh! i’m so jealous! i’m a sleepytime addict. i swear, there has to be drugs in that tea… lol.
